Firefighters Kept Busy on Tuesday

During an otherwise quiet week, the Livingston Fire Department had a busy day on Tuesday, October 24, with firefighters responding to a purported gas leak; a utility pole fire; a downed tree; and the scene of a car accident. A possible gas leak was reported Tuesday afternoon at Across International, a machinery manufacturing firm at 111 Dorsa Avenue. Firefighters at the scene evacuated the building as a precaution. However, they found no gas leak, but rather, a natural gas odor of unknown origin, possibly connected to a sewer issue.
