Dr. Harold Bieber, 90, of Livingston died on Friday, October 27, at his home.
Born and raised in New York, Dr. Bieber lived in Livingston for 57 years.
After being graduated with honors from Townsend Harris High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the City College of New York, and his master’s and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering from the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
Dr. Bieber joined Hoffman-La-Roche in 1956 and worked there for 38 years, becoming an expert in the design of vitamin extraction plants.
He is survived by his children, Ellen Bieber, Barbara and Bill Gedney, and David Bieber; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, of 60 years, in 2010.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Stroke Foundation.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, October 29, with arrangements made by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman.
