Jeff “The Coat Guy” Friedman, founder and director of the Livingston Philanthropies, has put out a call for volunteers to help him. “We need volunteers with an SUV, or a larger vehicle, to help take donations to our distribution partners,” he says. “If someone can help us out for about 2½ hours, one day a week, that would be perfect.” Shown above, volunteer Alek DeMaio and Tribune publisher Jenny Chciuk stand with a giant load of coats and other donations that had been dropped at the West Essex Tribune. “As you can see, the donations keep coming in, and another pair of hands (or more) helping to transport them to Newark and East Orange would be invaluable,” notes Friedman. “Please e-mail me at jftv1@verizon.net if you can help!” Below, DeMaio stuffs his SUV full of donated items for delivery.
