Donald Lester Stevens, 82, of North Caldwell, formerly of Livingston, died Saturday, January 13. A Mass was celebrated at Notre Dame Church, North Caldwell, on Tuesday, January 16, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover. Born in Newark, Mr. Stevens was raised in Livingston, and had been a resident of the Caldwells since 1959. He was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School and Upsala College, where he earned a degree in business administration. His entire career was spent at Chubb Life Insurance, from which he retired as executive vice president. He also served in the National Guard. Mr. Stevens was predeceased by his siblings, Benjamin L. Jr., Jane, and Lorraine Stevens. The husband of 60 years to Ann (nee Boucher) Stevens, he was the father of Kathy Stevens Bryson and her husband, Ray; Donald Lawrence Stevens and his wife, Robyn; and Dr. Carol Stevens. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Cocozza; his brother, William Stevens; and five grandchildren.
