Reginald Samuel Tauben died March 19, 2018 at the age of 94 in West Caldwell, New Jersey. He was a resident of Livingston from 1958 to 2012. Reg was predeceased by his wife, Carol, after 66 years of a loving marriage. He considered Carol to be his “raison d’etre.” He is survived by their daughter, Rolayn, in Berkeley, California, and their son, David, in Seattle, Washington, and their grandchildren, Alex, Chantal, Daniel, and Julia. Reg was a combat veteran of U.S. Anti-Aircraft, 12th Army Group, serving in Europe during WW II, including the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Ardennes, as the generals’ interpreter aligned with the French Resistance. After discharge, he returned to college and later added an MBA from CUNY. He retired in 1989 from Fieldcrest-Cannon as Manager of Marketing Research. He had previously worked in a similar capacity at Prudential Insurance, Rayco, RJ Reynolds Food, American Chicle, Warner Lambert, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Reg also served as a trustee of Temple Emanu-El in Livingston. Towards the end, Reg said, “I’ve been lucky: 94 years, a loving family; a very good life.” He will forever be recalled by his family and friends as a loving father, intelligent, kind, gentle, humble and always dignified. He asks to be remembered as “a nice guy.” ...
