August 25, 1920 – June 4, 2018 Patricia Louise Gibbs Joralemon, affectionately known as Fifi, was born in Swanbridge, Glamorgan, Wales to Amy Louise Roberts and Lt. Eustace Martin Gibbs, a New Zealander. She was raised in Wales and western England. During World War II, she met Sgt. Nicholas H. Joralemon of Orange, New Jersey, and married him in Porlock, England in 1944. Following the war years, Fifi immigrated to Livingston, New Jersey where they raised their family of three daughters and assorted pets. In 1997, Fifi moved to Prescott, Arizona and resided there until her transition at Good Samaritan Marley House Hospice. Fifi was a passionate supporter of animal rights, the rights of women and civil rights for all. As a Livingston resident, she was a frequent volunteer at the voting polls. Her crossword skills and love of language allowed her to complete every Sunday’s New York Times crossword puzzle and acrostic in ink. She was rarely defeated in a game of Scrabble. Fifi kept her sense of humor and positive attitude into her final days of her life. Fifi leaves behind a brother, Keith Gibbs of Taree, Australia; daughters Susan Hout and Jessie Bourke, both of Prescott, Arizona; and Marguerite Joralemon of Montclair, New Jersey. She is also survived by six grandchildren – Chris Hout, Carolyn Minks, Eloiza Jorge, Solange Jorge, Allison Bourke, and Charles Bourke; and five greatgrandchildren – Malcolm King, Anais King, Nicholas Hout, Nash Hout and Jesse Dee Bourke. Patricia’s life will be remembered with a festive gathering planned to coincide with her 98th birthday on August 25, 2018 in Prescott, Arizona. Donations in her honor can be made to Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama. ...
