Police Officers Rescue Boy Who Fell Through Ice

A sixth grade student was rescued Tuesday evening after falling through the ice on Littell’s Pond. Just after 5 p.m. on February 5, with the temperature at about 60 degrees, the 12-year-old boy went on the ice to retrieve a basketball and fell through. Livingston Police officers and the Livingston Fire Department rushed to the scene, with officers David Cordero and Sean Whalen arriving first to find the boy in the pond. The boy, who was able to stand with the water coming up to his chest, could not get out of the water on his own.
