The Board’s lead candidate for the superintendent of schools position “has decided not to come to Livingston because that person would need to take about a $20,000 pay cut,” school board president BuddyAugust announced at the February 25 Board of Education meeting.
“That is the law,” he said.
“In fact, that dollar figure – actually a bit more than $20,000 – is just for the first year,” he told the Tribune. “It would jump to more than $100,000 in a five-year contract, which we were hoping to offer.”
