Anthony “Tony” L. Mita, 65, died Sunday, May 19, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Newark, Mr. Mita resided in Livingston for many years before moving to Martinsville 32 years ago.
He was employed by Beneficial Insurance Companies in Morristown/Peapack, as a programmer. For the past 14 years, he worked as a consultant with Luxoft USA Inc.as a project manager for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in East Hanover.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Martinsville.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy DeMatteo Mita; his children, Jacqueline Picard and her husband, Urban II; Margot Dolbier and her husband, James; and Kyle Mita and his significant other, Logan Swain; his siblings, Marianne Stout, Rocco and Wendy Mita, Michael Mita and David Mita; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, May 22, at Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung. A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Church, Watchung.
