Assunta Delia (nee Pichi) died in her Livingston home on Friday, June 21. She was 98 years old.
Born in Dover, Mrs. Delia had lived in Livingston over 60 years with her husband, Anthony, while raising their children.
She worked many years as a maternity nurse at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, retiring at the age of 72.
She was predeceased by her husband after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Rosanne Chieffo (Al), Ronald (Annie), and Anthony (Michele); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held this Thursday, June 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 East Mt. PleasantAvenue, Livingston. The funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, Livingston. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mrs. Delia’s memory to the Saint Barnabas Health Care Hospice VNA/ HG, West Orange, NJ 07052, or to the American Cancer Society.
