VAN BREAKS BRIDGE: At 12:27 p.m. on Monday, October 7, a contractor’s van loaded with bags of concrete mix was attempting to cross a bridge into a private driveway on East Northfield Road. The weight of the van caused one rear wheel to break through the wooden decking, causing the vehicle to become lodged in the bridge. A tow truck was able to extricate the van from the bridge before it fell into the water and damaged a gas line. Livingston Building Department officials inspected bridge and deemed it unsafe.
