Josephine Graboski

Josephine Laura Graboski (nee Ferrara) passed away on March 6, 2020, surrounded by her family. “Jo” was born and raised in Staten Island, New York on June 22, 1932. She was graduated from Port Richmond High School in Staten Island in 1950 and worked in New York City for several years before meeting up with a former classmate from high school (who wouldbecome her husband), Stanley Graboski. Stan and Jo enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Jo and Stan loved holding parties and fun times in their home in Livingston (since 1970), and welcomed many friends as family. Many have been to their annual Christmas Eve open house and Memorial Day celebrations. Jo loved her home, her friends, her town, but more than anything was devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren would call her “the best.” She was, to all who knew her, an amazing, funny, compassionate and strong woman (as well as being a whiz with numbers); she loved others with an unconditional love. Her presence will be missed beyond words, but her legacy of love and faith in God will remain with us. Jo is survived by her husband, Stan; her daughter, Karen (Fidler) and her husband, Bruce; her son, Stanley J., and his wife, Robin (Zhang); her grandchildren, Juliana Fidler, Robert Fidler, Katie Fidler, Emily Fidler, and Stefan Graboski; her brother, Donald Ferrara; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service to honor Jo will be held at her church, Long Hill Chapel, 525 Shunpike Road, Chatham, New Jersey, on Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Long Hill Chapel in Chatham. ...
