Milesplit, a national data base of track and field performances and events decided to host a virtual track meet by encouraging track and field athletes from all over the United States to submit videos of their individual performances as a way to continue to compete. Inspired by this, the coaches at Livingston High School decided to do the same locally. The athletes submitted their performances through an app on their phones through another track and field data base. “Another surprise that came from the experience was that other athletes from the United States also looking for competition entered the Livingston meet!” said coach Nancy Petryna. The 100 meter sprint was heavily contested by the girls. Senior captain Katrina Pham posted the fastest time for the meet with a 13.4. Not far behind in a tie for second were Liz Lam and Reigne Villanueva, with a time of 13.9. Also competing were Joanne Cao (14.1), Jadyn Kestenbaum (14.2), Monica Sharma (14.3), Jaynie Leavy (14.5), Maggie Siao (14.3), Karen Wang (14.4), Summer Yung (14.6), Erica Wang (15.6), Nikki Heiffler (16.1), and Bridget Wu (17.8). For the boys, Ryan Lee won the event with a time of 13.2. Lance Canent placed second with 15.3.     To read more please log in or subscribe to the digital edition http://www.etypeservices.com/West%20Essex%20TribuneID480/   ...
