Hans Joachim Conrads

Hans Joachim Conrads of Livingston was born April 4, 1933, and passed away on Monday, June 29. Born in Newark, he had lived in Livingston for 46 years. He was a member of the Livingston Old Guard. Mr. Conrads was predeceased by his parents, Heinrich (Henry) Conrads and Martha (Kaiser) Conrads; and his sister,Esther (Conrads) Darbyshire. He is survived by his wife, Herta, to whom he was married for 61 years; his sons, Peter P. Conrads of Ohio and Mark David Conrads of Cedar Knolls; his grandchildren, Amanda, Mark Jr., and Samantha; and cousins and other family in Leipzig, Germany. Mr. Conrads served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1956, and his favorite hymn was the Navy Hymn: Eternal Father, strong to save Whose arm hath bound for the restless wave Who bidst the mighty ocean deep Its own appointed limits keep Its own appointed limits keep O hear us when we cry to Thee For those in peril on the sea.
