Bernice F. Weill

Bernice F. Weill of Livingston, New Jersey passed away on Monday, September 14, of natural causes. She was 96 years old, and had lived the last year of her life at Brandywine Living in the town of Livingston. She had previously resided in the same town since 1954. Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1923, Bernice pursued a career as an educator and learning disabilities specialist. Respected as a specialist within the Livingston School District for over 30 years, she also published several articles and learning games in the field of learning disabilities. Bernice was married to Dr. Carol E. Weill, a professor of Chemistry at Rutgers University, Newark. Their loving marriage lasted for almost 48 years, until his death in 1995. Bernice is predeceased by her two brothers, Clarence and Edgar. She is survived by her two children, Wendy and Larry. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Kelly and Erin. She was also fortunate to meet her great-grandson, Callum, two months before her passing. In her spare time, she enjoyed sharing the hobbies of her children, and engaged in painting, making jewelry, and writing. She enjoyed the company of a loyal and closeknit group of friends, with whom she spent time playing cards and Mahjong. She also loved to travel, which was a lifelong pursuit, first with her family, and in later years with her daughter, Wendy. A small funeral was conducted at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel on Thursday, September 17. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. ...
