Norman O. Adis

Norman O. Adis, 91, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Maplewood, Norman resided in Livingston for 49 years. He owned his own plumbing and home improvement company and was a long-standing member of the Master Plumbers’ Association. A devoted husband and loving father, Norman was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and enjoyed many hobbies, including skiing, camping, gardening, boating, fishing, building elaborate model train sets, and refurbishing his favorite vintage cars, a Ford Thunderbird and International Scout. Norman spent many years involved in organizations that reflected his passions and skills. He was a member and instructor of the National Ski Patrol for more than 25 years; an adult leader ofthe Boy Scouts Troop 12 of Livingston; as well as a trip leader for the Sierra Club and Appalachian Mountain Club. He was involved as a member with the local Thunderbird Club and contributed many of his adventurous stories in its newsletters. He also volunteered as a driver for the senior citizen transportation service in Livingston, and taught driver safety courses for AARP. Norman had the rare combination of being able to live life fully while also understanding what was most important to him — living a simple life with those he loved, and generously sharing his warm heart, his sense of humor, and his gift for storytelling with his friends and family. Norman was predeceased by his grandson, Joey, and his brother, Bobby. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Yvonne. He also leaves behind his loving children and their spouses, Audrey Anderson (Paul), Veronica Maier (Robert), Randolph (Kimberly), and Christopher (Lori); his adoring grandchildren, Greg, Christian, Ryan, Nolan, Amy, Colin, and Connor; his sister, Betty Couch; as well as many extended family members and dear friends. Funeral arrangements are under the care of QuinnHopping Funeral Home, Livingston. All services are private at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant House. ...
