Pearl Zack Turtletaub

Pearl Zack Turtletaub, 89, died Thursday, August 12, 2021. Born in New Brunswick to Born in New Brunswick to Phillip and Yetta Zack, Pearl later married her childhood sweetheart, Ed Turtletaub, in 1951. The couple lived in Perth Amboy, first in an apartment above the “Turtles” men’s clothing store owned by Ed’s parents, then across town near the water, until Ed and Pearl moved to Scotch Plains, New Jersey, to raise their three children, Glenn, Lee Ann, and David. Pearl graduated from Perth Amboy High School. She worked as a secretary at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, and later as Director of Investor Relations for AGS Computers, a technology consulting company, for many years. Pearl also owned and operated an antique shop in Scotch Plains. Following retirement, Pearl and Ed moved to Monroe Township, where they lived until Ed’s death in 2013. Pearl moved to Cranford and later to Livingston. Pearl enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and was known for her passion, spontaneity, and sense of humor. Pearl could often be found shopping, not only for herself but generously taking her grandchildren on shopping sprees. She also enjoyed Chinese food and reading. Pearl’s legacy includes three children, Glenn (spouse Debbie), the late Lee Ann Schimkowitz (Al), and David (May Lynn). Her legacy also includes grandchildren Jessica Pepper (Lee), Meredith Birnbaum (Eric), Stephanie Buckler (Aaron), Matthew Schimkowitz, Sarah Graham Carlile (Lance), Sam, Joe (Sarah), and Nancy Donald (Logan). Pearl had seven great-grandchildren: Lee Buckler, Devorah Buckler, Sydney Blake Pepper, Grayson Turtletaub, Bumi Turtletaub, Sloane Carlile, and Dean Carlile. ...
