Three members of the Livingston Police Department attended the funerals of two New York City officers killed in the line of duty. NYPD officers Jason Rivera, 22, and Wilbert Mora, 27, were shot while responding to a domestic violence incident on Friday, January 21. Rivera died shortly after being shot, and his funeral was held January 28. Mora succumbed to his injuries on January 25, and his funeral took place on February 2.Livingston Police Officer Todd Compesi attended the service for Rivera, while Sgt. Jose Antunes and Sgt. Michael Herbert attendedMora’s funeral.Compesi stated, “P.O. Rivera and P.O. Mora sacrificed their lives for the people of New York City, and they both died doing a job they loved. These two officers are true heroes that are gone but will never be forgotten. The overwhelming ‘sea of blue’ from all over the world was something truly special to see. I was glad to be there to support P.O. Rivera, his family, and the NYPD as a representative of the Livingston Police Department during this difficult time of mourning.”Sgt. Antunes noted, “It was a great honor and privilege to represent the Township of Livingston and the men and women of our Police Department in New York City.
