Congratulations Graduates

It is a very special day for many of our Livingston families. Today, Thursday, June 23, students from Livingston High School’s Class of 2022 are attending their graduation ceremony and receiving their diplomas. Those graduating this year have had a… unique… high school experience, to say the least. The middle years of high school for these students were undercut by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the end of their sophomore year and their junior year plagued by virtual learning and masking. It was not the ideal situation to form lasting memories, although surely there were still many. It was certainly a challenging time, and not how anyone envisioned their four years of high school going, but credit to the Class of 2022 for dealing with the hand they were dealt and making the most of it. We were proud to witness all of the incredible things this class managed to accomplish in spite of the unfortunate circumstances. But that was just one part of the high school experience for this wonderful and eclectic group of students. These students were still able to have a traditional start to their high school career, with all of their freshman and most of their sophomore years being completely normal. And by the time monumental events like prom came around, the schools were essentially back to status quo. We were able to return to our school plays, sporting events, and musical performances.Thankfully, the final memories of high school for many of these students will not be of staring at a laptop and their bedroom walls, but rather of roaming the LHS halls with friends, signing yearbooks, and saying farewell to their favorite teachers. Walking the Oval on a given day, lately, one would never know all that we had experienced over the past few years. For many, high school graduation marks the transition to secondary education, with students taking what they have learned in Livingston and applying it in the greater world. High school graduations are a bridge from one part of life to the next, whether it is to college, directly to the workforce, to military service, or a gap year. We wish our seniors luck in wherever their respective bridges take them. We eagerly look forward to seeing all that this class will surely accomplish. So, a heartfelt congratulations, once again, to Livingston High School’s Class of 2022! We hope everyone takes time to enjoy our special graduation ...
