LHS Ice Hockey Team Currently 4-2-1

The Livingston High School ice hockey team began this season coming off the most successful year in the team’s history. The 2022 Lancers finished 22-4-3. They were Mclnnis Conference champions; the state champion runners up in the Public A division; posted 11 shut-outs; and played 15 games against the state’s top 20 teams. The Lancers finished the season ranked 15th in the state and first overall in the NJYHLL (New Jersey Youth Hockey League) rankings.The Lancers commenced the 2023 season going 4-2-1 in their first seven games. The Lancers defeated Verona-Glen Ridge, Governor Livingston, Passaic County Tech, and MiddletownNorth, and tied Glen Rock. They lost to Summit and West Essex.The team is led by senior captain Dylan Schultz, co-captain Brett Conklin, and junior co-captain Ryan Zales. Senior goalie Justinas Sanders, along with defensemen Alex Selvin and Reed Plotnick, have provided strong defense thus far.Offensively, the team has been led by Schultz, junior Zach Silva, sophomores Egor Tarasyuk and Anthony Cassese, freshmen Matthew Zocks and Ben Diamond. Over the holiday break, head coach Dave Conklin notched his 200th victory. The Lancers are currently ranked 18th in New Jersey’s Top 20 Hockey rankings.The team played at Westfield yesterday, Wednesday, January 4 (results were not available at press time), and will host Verona-Glen Ridge on Friday night, January 6, at 8:30 p.m. at Codey Arena.TheA.W. Harrison General Store, which once stood at Livingston Center, housed a post office and general store downstairs and a meeting hall upstairs.
