Korean War Remembrance

Dear Editor: The Korean War was fought between North Korea and South Korea from June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953. The war began when North Korea invaded South Korea following clashes along the border and rebellions in South Korea.This year marks the 70th anniversary of the signing of the armistice to stop the Korean War.The Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Jewish Veterans of War posts of Livingston will conduct a ceremony to commemorate the day and those who served. The ceremony will be on July 27 at 10 a.m.It will be held at Memorial Park at the Oval. If the weather is inclement we will move to the town library.We are requesting names of those who served in Korea. The names can be sent to: vfwpost2856@verizon.net, subject line Korea.If anyone wishes to furnish further information about the veteran they could do so.
