The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries, as well as attempted burglaries to vehicles andhomes that occurred last week in town.Six of these incidents occurred in a single day, on Friday, October 6.At 9:06 a.m., Livingston officers responded to a South Livingston Avenue home on a report of an attempted burglary. Officers arrived and were met by the homeowner, who said that in the overnight hours, several suspects attempted to enter a 2022 Porsche Macan that was parked in the driveway, but were unsuccessful since the vehicle was locked. The suspects then tried the front door of the residence, found that it was locked, and fled the scene.At 10 a.m., officers responded to a Bennington Road home on a report of a burglary attempt to two vehicles. Officers arrived and were met by the homeowner, who said that sometime in the overnight hours, several suspects attempted to enter the two BMWs parked in the driveway, but were unsuccessful as the vehicles were locked.At 10:26 a.m., officers responded to a Winchester Road home on a report of attempted burglary to a vehicle and the residence. Officers arrived and were met by the homeowner, who advised them they noticed an interior light on inside their 2022 Porsche Macan, which led them to investigate further. The Porsche had been left unlocked and the vehicle was ransacked. The rear door to the residence was also attempted to be pried open, but the suspects were unsuccessful in gaining entry and fled the scene.Later that evening, at 7:39 p.m. Livingston officers responded to a Bennington Road residence on a report of a burglary to a vehicle.Upon arrival, officers were met by the homeowner, who said that their 2021 Toyota RAV4 had been left unlocked, and sometime in the overnight hours, the vehicle was entered. A wallet and its contents were stolen from the vehicle.At 8 p.m., officers responded to a Winchester Road home on a report of an attempted burglary to the residence. Officers arrived and were met by the homeowner, who showed them pry marks on the back door to his residence. A review of surveillance cameras showed the incident happened on Thursday, October 5, when there were several other break-in attempts in the neighborhood.At 8:50 p.m. officers responded to a Fellswood Drive residence on a report of an attempted burglary to a vehicle.
