Detectives Investigate Home, Vehicle Burglaries

Livingston Police officers responded to several calls in the past week, including a residential burglary, a burglary to a vehicle, and shoplifting.Home BurglaryAt 7:09 p.m. on Friday, March 8, Livingston officers responded to a Thames Drive home in response to a burglary alarm.Officers arrived and located a rear sliding door that was shattered. A further investigation revealed that the home had just been burglarized and the bedrooms were ransacked.The homeowner is compiling a list of stolen items and the Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating the matter.Vehicle BurglaryAt 11:44 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, officers responded to a Vista Drive home on a report of a suspect who just entered a vehicle.Officers arrived and were met by the homeowner, who said that they received a Ring video notification and saw a suspect inside their Audi Q7 that was parked in the driveway. The vehicle had been left unlocked, and the suspect was scared off when the homeowner yelled at him.The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating the matter.ShopliftingAt 5:31 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, Livingston officers responded to Nordstrom Rack, 530 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue, on a report of a shoplifter in custody.Officers arrived and were met by loss prevention employees, who had Kuo Chunhao, 45, of Glen Ridge, in custody for allegedly shoplifting a pair of sandals.Chunhao was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters, where he was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.
