Victoria Cheng Wins Second Consecutive Bowling Title

Livingston High School bowler Victoria Cheng has won the Essex County Girl’s Individual Championship for the second consecutive year.In the team championship, Cheng rolled a 483 series, which was the second best of the day for the girls. The top 12 bowlers competed for the individual championship on February 26. Cheng scored 487 pins to secure the third seed in the stepladder competition.In the fourth versus third step, Victoriarolleda 180toHope Smith’s 169. Moving on to third versus second, Cheng narrowly defeated Michelnael Fils-Aime. Fils-Aime missed a spare which opened the door for Cheng to win 185 to 179.In the championship game, it was a rematch from last season in which the first seed Gabriella Lucivero, from Nutley, would score a 180 pinfall. Cheng started the game with four strikes and finished with a 202 win, the game, and the title.Cheng, a junior at LHS, posted the high girl’s average, game, and series for all of the participants in the SEC Colonial Division at Hanover Lanes.
