When the class of 2014 graduated from Livingston High School, 97% were planning to attend a college, university or technical school, according to a report given by the Livingston High School guidance department to the Board of Education on November 24.

Coat Drive Delivers Over 300 Coats

The fourth annual Livingston Coat Drive has gotten off to a successful start, having collected and delivered a total of 360 coats so far.

"Well, the winter weather has arrived, and I think it's a good bet that it's here to stay," said Livingston resident Jeff Friedman, organizer of the Coat Drive. "But thanks to the residents of Livingston and the other towns in which we are collecting, we have been able to provide coats and winter accessories to those who would otherwise have had to somehow manage without. Can you imagine trying to face the winter without a warm coat to wear?"

700 Participate in Color Livingston 5K Run; Raise $25,000 Toward Adaptive Playground

"Sunday, November 16 was the most colorful day Livingston has ever seen," said one of the 700 participants in the inaugural Color Livingston 5K Run. The event brought awareness to the need for an adaptive playground in Livingston, and raised approximately $25,000 for the new all-inclusive facility. The new playground will be installed at Monmouth Court Community Center.

Camuso Display Restoration Continues

One of the first figures made by Ernie Camuso, Frosty, the Snowman, had deteriorated severely over more than 50 years of displays. This year, the fi gure was fi lled with a foam substance and has been revitalized in time for the December 6 opening of the annual Camuso holiday display at the Gazebo.

Council Approves Sign Ordinance; Delays Hearings on Four Others

An ordinance to control the use of temporary and portable signs was enacted by the Township Council on Monday evening. The new ordinance sets the size of temporary signs for the sale or lease of a premises and defines the size and use of temporary wall-mounted banners and window signs.

Council Members meet with Board

Two members of the Township Council met informally with two members of the Board of Education recently to discuss items of mutual concern. The meeting did not have to be publicly announced under the "Sunshine Law," because less than a majority of each of the bodies attended the meeting.
