LHS GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TEAM REIGNS SUPREME: On Tuesday, October 17, the LHS girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated West Orange, 2-0, in the Essex County Tournament (ECT) quarterfinals. They next defeated West Essex, 2-0, in the ECT quarterfinals on Thursday, October 19. The Lancers brought another win home, defeating Verona, 2-0, on Saturday, October 21, at Mount Saint Dominic Academy, winning the Essex County Girls Volleyball Tournament Championship. Livingston Green Knights 10U Secure Four Victories

The Livingston Green Knights , a 10 and under boys’ baseball league team, won all four of their games last weekend, on the road. They beat the BC Cyclones, 7-2, and the Tenafly Tigers, 12-2, on Saturday then defeated the Highlands Black, 13-3, and the West Milford Bears, 8-6, on Sunday.

Offensively, the team was led by Dax Wendolowski and Leo Krantz with five hits and four RBIs each. Leo Woodsmall and Harrison Watt had four hits and two RBIs each.

Watt proved to be the difference behind the plate, throwing out seven runners attempting to steal. Brandon Mahoney, Leo Woodsmall and Ryan Mirman each started games and pitched well to record wins. Krantz pitched in relief in three of the four games, along with Watt and Wendolowski, preserving the wins for Livingston.

WIN CHAMPIONSHIP: On Saturday, October 21, the Livingston High School girls’ varsity soccer team captured the 2023 Essex County Girls’ Soccer Tournament Championship (ECT), defeating West Orange, 3-2 during overtime, at Millburn High School. Livingston defeated West Essex, 4-3, in five shootouts, on Wednesday, October 18, during the ECT semi-finals. Lancer Dina Bojovic scored two goals in regulation, while Izzy Kilelee scored the winning goal in overtime against West Orange. Boys’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Verona, 3-0

The Lancer boys’ varsity soccer team defeated the Verona Hillbillies, 3-0, during the first round of the Essex County Tournament on Wednesday, October 11.

Lancer goals were scored by Jacob Lowenthal, Joshua Ramo, and Hriday Dabhi.

On Friday, October 13, the Lancers fell to the East Side Red Raiders, 3-1, during the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team Record Now 13-0

The Lancer girls’ varsity soccer team won three games last week to improve their record to 13-0.

The Lancers defeated Montclair Kimberly Academy, 2-0, on Monday, October 9. The Lancer goals were scored by Izzy Kilelee and Dina Bojkovic.

Livingston defeated Caldwell, 5-0, during the first round of the Essex County Tournament on Thursday, October 12.

One goal was scored by Dina Bojkovic, and two goals each by Emily Martin and Isabella Diianni.

The girls’ soccer team advanced in the Essex County Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Cedar Grove on Saturday, October 14.

Lancer scorers included Isabella Diianni, Izzy Kilelee, and Dina Bojkovic.

FOOTBALL TEAM FALLS TO RAMS: The Lancers were defeated by the Randolph Rams, 25 to 8, on the turf on Friday, October 6. Lancer highlights included 201 yards passing and 67 rushing yards by quarterback Noah Ramos. Aidan Healy recorded 70 receiving yards while Christian Giordano had 11 tackles. Girls’ Cross Country Improves Record to 7-0

After opening the 2023 cross country campaign with two victories in week one of Super Essex Conference (SEC) dual meets, the LHS Cross Country girls were eager to keep the momentum going. In week two, they competed against Caldwell, Newark Academy (NA) and Bloomfield. 11 girls competed in the varsity competition.

Sophia Paparsenos and Taylor Dannis led the team, and all 11 crossed the line with their best times of the season. Paparsenos (21:57; first) led the Lancers, who had five finishers in the top ten spots in the race. Following Paparsenos were Dannis (22:30; fourth), Lila Maru (22:59; fifth), Sophie Schumacher (24:03; eighth) and Carol Flores (24:40; ninth). Also competing hard in this contest were Emma Xing, Sarah Nidhan, Phoebe Liu, Lexis Chen, Jordan Fersko and Avery Lerman.
