Lancer Varsity Tennis Team Wins Two

Lancer Varsity Tennis Team Wins Two

The Livingston High School girls’ varsity tennis team won matches against Montclair and Caldwell. The team has a 3-1 win-loss record.

Livingston 3.5, Montclair 1.5: A very competitive match saw Livingston’s Emily Sze win first singles against Maddie Schanen, 6-1, 6-0, and Montclair’s Chloe Jordan win second singles 6-1, 6-2 against Selena Zhu.

Both doubles matches were decided in three sets. Livingston’s Stephanie Li and Allison Miller won first doubles, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, and Bella Flaum and Sasha Vaysmanwon second doubles, 4-6, 6-0, 7-5. The Lancers trailed late in both deciding sets with Montclair holding a match point at second doubles.

Boys Cross Country Team Kicks Off Season

The Livingston High Schoolboys’ cross country team started its season last week in the first of four conference dual meets at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

This season, the Lancers are competing in the American Division, which has the top teams in the Super Essex Conference.

The Lancers raced well, despite coming up short against Millburn High School and Newark Academy.
