Former Livingston resident John Burkhardt Frey, known as "Jack," died at the age of 81 on September 13. A resident of Mahwah, he succumed to complications related to surgery for pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held this Saturday, September 27, at 4 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home in Chatham. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. Mr. Frey, who grew up in Livingston, attended West Caldwell High School. In 1956, he was graduated from Cornell University, where he earned a degree in civil engineering. He began his career at DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware and worked for the company for 36 years. After earning an MBA from the University of Delaware, he transferred into marketing research. Mr. Frey taught at the University of Delaware as an adjunct professor for 18 years. Upon his retirement from DuPont, he worked as a consultant.

June C. Giordano of Livingston died on Thursday, September 18. She was 85 years old. Funeral arrangements were by Farmer Funeral Home in Roseland. She is survived by her husband, Michael G., Sr.; and her children, Kathleen and Michael G., Jr. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Martin G. Margolis, 78, of Livingston and Longboat Key, Florida, died on Friday, September 19, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Mr. Margolis was born in Newark. He had lived in Livingston and Longboat Key for many years. A graduate of Rutgers University, he received his J.D. degree from New York Law School. He was a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. His office, Margolis Law, LLC, was located in Livingston. He was in practice for 54 years. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Foundation.

R. Bruce Noel died September 21 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. A funeral service will be held today, Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton, Massachusetts. A graduate of Newark College of Engineering, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a civil engineer for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for many years before retiring in 1984. Predeceased by his wife, Arax Zevart, Mr. Noel is survived by his children, Arthur W. of Sharon, Massachusetts, Gary J. of North Caldwell, Barbara G. Noel of Rhinebeck, New York, Adrienne C. Noel of Hillsboro, New Hampshire, and Audra A. Duncan of Rochester, Minnesota; a sister, Doris Smith; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kennedy Savage, 91, died at Inglemoor Care Center, Livingston, on Thursday, September 18. A funeral service celebrating his life was held on Monday, at the Presbyterian Church of Livingston. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Savage moved to Livingston in 1951. He served in the Air Force during World War II, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge as well as many other medals for his service overseas in combat. Mr. Savage, who earned a master's degree in engineering from Stevens Institute, Hoboken, retired after many years as a mechanical engineer with Federated Metals Division Asarco in Newark. He had been an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Livingston. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edith; his children, Roberta Savage, Gail Demeter and Peter Savage; three grandchildren and a greatgranddaughter.
