Mr. Chaiklin Dies at 88

Harold Chaiklin, 88, a resident of Livingston, died on Wednesday, April 17. He had been born in Newark.

Family and friends gathered prior to the service on Friday, April 19, at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, in Livingston. Interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, in Iselin, followed the funeral service.

Services are Held For Mr. Caslow

Robert Caslow, Sr., 92, of Livingston, died onApril 18. Born and raised in Newark and Hillside, he lived in East Orange for many years before moving to Livingston in 1975.

Mr. Caslow was pre-deceased by his siblings, Joseph W. Caslow and Elaine Wilkenloh.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maureen Caslow (nee Stanley); children, Judy Caslow Kulik (Vincent), Robert Caslow, Jr., Nancy Caslow Degnan, and daughter-in-law Pattie Caslow; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22, at the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home in Roseland.Afuneral mass was held on Tuesday, April 23, at St. Rose of Lima Church, in East Hanover. Cremation was private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Caslow’s memory to the Livingston First Aid Squad, lfas.org, or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.

Mrs. Weinberger Dies on April 18

Sheila Janet Weinberger, 86, of West Orange, formerly of Livingston, died on Thursday, April 18.

Mrs. Weinberger was bom in Jersey City She was the wife of the late George Weinberger; mother of Mark Weinberger (Serilyn) and Sheryl Saleh; grandmother of four; andgreatgrandmother to one.

Services to Be Held For Mr. Gallagher

Edward Joseph Gallagher, 88, of Livingston, died on Saturday,April 20.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Philomena Church in Livingston. An interment will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Services Held For Mr. Brodsky

Stephen Mark Brodsky died on Saturday,April 20, in Livingston, from complications related to pneumonia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace (Rosenberg) Brodsky; brother Ed Brodsky (Carol); children Marc (Jill) and Lisa (Ryan); and his two grandchildren.

Mr. Brodsky was born in Bronx, New York, on December 22, 1943. He graduated from Taft High School and attended the Baruch School of Business at CCNY.

The family received guests for Mr. Brodsky on Wednesday, April 24, at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, in Livingston. This was followed by a funeral service and burial at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus.

Services Held For Mrs. Szumaski

Gloria Frances Szumaski (née Luciano) of Lavallette, formerly of Livingston, died on Tuesday, April 9. She was 82 years old. She was born on July 30, 1941 and raised in Livingston.

Mrs. Szumaski was the mother of four children, Gina Iammatteo, Denise (Joe D’Aries), Maria (Brian Siegel) and Joseph (Penny); and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Szumaski was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Antoinette Luciano; husband, John; her sisters, Nicolina Luciano, Beatrice Salemme, Dolores Freeman, Lucille Hoerrmann, Theresa Castelli, and Patricia O’Brien; and her brother Salvatore Luciano. She is survived by her siblings, Anna Mykietyn, Anthony Luciano, Janet Senft and Leonard Luciano. Mrs. Szumaski is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lavallette FirstAid Squad, P.O. Box 334 Lavallette, NJ 08735 in Mrs. Szumaski’s honor.

Services Are Held For Mrs. Acquaviva

Dolores Acquaviva (née Friscia) of Livingston died on Friday, March 29. Bom and raised in Newark, she moved to Livingston in 1960.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philomena Church in Livingston on Wednesday, April 3. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. The family received friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston on Tuesday, April 2.

Mrs. Acquaviva was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Acquaviva; her daughter, Rosalie Pennington; and her son-in-laws, Fred DeCorte and George Pennington. She is survived by her daughter Annette DeCorte, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren.

Mr. Pietrobon Dies at 91

Alberto Pietrobon, 91, died on Wednesday, March 27, in Livingston. Born in Riese Pio X Treviso, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1956. He moved to West Orange in 1961. In 1963, Mr. Pietrobon opened his business, JoPell Home Improvements, where he worked until his retirement.

Mr.Pietrobon was predeceased by seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maria; his daughters, Rosemarie Pietrobon, Gelsomina Pietrobon, and Bruna Amato (Carmine); as well as his grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 3 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston. Funeral mass was offered on Thursday, April 4 at St. Joseph Church in West Orange. The mass was followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Selma Paitchel, longtime resident of Livingston, passed peacefully on Monday, March 25, surrounded by family.  Born April 1, 1927, Selma was the beloved daughter of the late Max D.
