Funeral Services For Agnes Hagon

Agnes McAteer Hagon died at the age of 93 on July 12 at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township. Funeral services were held July 15 in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Born in Newark, Mrs. Hagon lived in Union and Livingston before moving to Raritan Township in 1988. She was retired from Newsweek, where she had been employed for many years. Mrs. Hagon is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert George Hagon; two daughters and their husbands, Laurel and Harvey Schrier of Monterey, California, and Kathleen and David Snyder of Galloway; a son and his wife, Robert Michael and Catherine Hagon of Somerset; and two granddaughters. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph's School for the Blind, 761 Summit Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07307.

Jonathan DeRiggi Dies in New Vernon

A funeral was held July 7 at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison for Jonathan Kent DeRiggi, who died July 2 in his New Vernon home. Born in Livingston, Mr. DeRiggi lived in Madison for 16 years before moving to New Vernon 20 years ago. He was a graduate of the County College of Morris in Randolph and was the manager of Arthur's Restaurant in Morris Plains for the past four years. Surviving Mr. DeRiggi are his parents, Pat and Ray; his brothers, Mark and Brian; and his grandmother, Catherine DeRiggi. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to Seton Hall Prep at www.shp.org.

Offer Funeral Mass For Gloria Ferrante

A funeral Mass was offered yesterday, Wednesday, in St. Philomena Church, Livingston, for Gloria G. (Anfuso) Ferrante. Mrs. Ferrante died at the age of 90 on July 5 in Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Born in Newark, she lived in East Orange before moving to Livingston more than 40 years ago. Mrs. Ferrante and her late husband were the co-owners of Ferrante Press in Verona before her retirement in 2004. Predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Ferrante, she is survived by a son, Vincent A. Ferrante and his wife, Susan; and a daughter, Anne M. Matrale and her husband, Peter A.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service For Jack Kessler

Jack Kessler died at the age of 88 on July 4. A funeral service was held July 6 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman in Livingston. Born in Poland, he emigrated with his mother, older sister and younger brother to the United States from Cherbourg, France in 1937. He resided in Elizabeth, the Bronx, New York, Asbury Park and Livingston before moving to Verona. Mr. Kessler served in the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II. For decades, he was the owner of 21st Street Wine and Liquors in the Chelsea section of New York City. Surviving Mr. Kessler are his wife of 66½ years, Helen; two sons, Andy and his wife, Jane; and Marty; a daughter, Ginny Roth had her husband, Jeff; a brother, Julius; and seven grandchildren. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the One Family Fund at Temple B'nai Abraham, 300 East Northfield Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 or the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Orlando

Toby Schweitzer Orlando, a longtime resident of Livingston, died at the age of 79 on Tuesday, June 17 at the Daughters of Israel Nursing Center. Funeral services were held at Bernheim Apter Kreitman, Funeral Home in Livingston on Thursday, June 19. She grew up in Brooklyn and married Gerald “Jerry” Schweitzer. Several years after Mr. Schweitzer's death at age 45, she married Robert “Bob” Orlando and moved to the Pointe in Livingston, where Mrs. Orlando was active in resident social activities. She is survived by three children, Allen Schweitzer, Stefanie Schweitzer Notino, and Cara Schweitzer Dock and their spouses, Janet Schweitzer, Genarro Notino, and Andrew Dock; and six grandchildren. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Daughters of Israel, Development Department, 1155 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052.

Funeral Services For Sofia Revich

The family of Sofi a Revich has announced that Mrs. Revich, 60, of Livingston died May 7. Funeral services were held May 9. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Mrs. Revich moved to Livingston in 1986. She was a beautician at Nails Now in Millburn from 1987 until 2013. She leaves her husband, Gregory; daughter and son-in-law, Ilona and Boris Shmaruk; her mother, Roza Krasnosheyn; and two grandsons.
