Will Celebrate Life Of Lucy Pinnelli Fleno

Lucy Pinnelli Fleno of Livingston died on May 31.

Mrs. Fleno was born in Orange to Donato and Rose Pinnelli on September 17, 1928. After marriage, she and her husband moved to Livingston.

Mrs. Fleno was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas and her brother, Anthony, and is survived by her three children, Patricia Fleno of Stillwater; William Fleno of New Providence; and Robert Fleno of Long Hill Township.

She was the grandmother of five, the great-grandmother of four, and the great-great-grandmother of one.

A celebration of life will be held on September 17 to honor Mrs. Fleno on her birthday. Arrangements are by Cochran Funeral Home, Hackettstown.

Services Were Held For Judy Connelly

Judy (née Robertson) Connelly, a graduate of the Livingston High School class of 1966, died at her home in Randolph on June 17.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 23, at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph.

Born in Orange and raised in Livingston, Mrs. Connelly moved to Randolph in 1975. She was a floral designer and owned two shops, Randolph and Galleria 10 Florists, both in Morris county.

She is survived by Dennis, her husband of more than 52 years; her two daughters, Denise (Bruce) Henderson, and Tracy Connelly-McConkey; and three grandchildren; as well as her two sisters, Diane (Scotty) McGunnigle and Norma Jean (Billy) Mackey, and her brother, David (Donna) Robertson. Preceding her in death was her sister, Janice Robertson.

Memorial Service Held For Norman Jay Scheer

Norman Jay Scheer, a longtime resident of Livingston, died after a brief illness on June 16, two days after his 89th birthday.

Mr. Scheer was born in Brooklyn to Etta and William Scheer, and grew up in Hillside. He was a 1954 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he played on the Penn golf team and then for the United States Army team while stationed in Germany. He later served as Greens chairman at the Preakness Hills Country Club and was the longest-tenured course rater for Golf Digest.

After his military service, Mr. Scheer joined the William N. Scheer Advertising Agency, founded by his father, and later established his own business, the Norman J. Stevens Advertising Agency.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice Capaccio Scheer; his children, Mark (Kathy) Scheer, Lisa (Edward) Cone, and Suzanne Scheer; seven grandchildren; and his brother, Steven (Natalie) Scheer.

Mass Was Offered For Robert Vogler

Robert D. Vogler of Livingston died on Wednesday, June 16. He was 68 years old.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 23, at Hancliffe Home for Funerals in East Hanover. Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima RC Church. He was buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Born in Newark, Mr. Vogler resided in Livingston for over 40 years. He was employed in the inventory control department of Solid State Inc. in Morristown prior to his retirement in 2013.

He is survived by his brother, Joseph Vogler, with whom he resided, and was predeceased by another brother, Dennis Vogler.

Eleanor (Nora) K. Gilliland, 61, of Livingston, died on June 16, 2021.

A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at St. Raphael Parish, 346 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, New Jersey. Interment was private. Funeral Services were entrusted to Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, Roseland, NJ, shookfarmer.com.

Born in Orange, Nora was a lifelong resident of Livingston, New Jersey. For 36 years, she was a paralegal for Brach Eichler in Roseland, New Jersey.

Nora was devout in her Catholic faith. She began her music ministry in the folk group at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston and later at St. Raphael Parish as an active member of its choir. Nora was also active in St. Raphael’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, Family Life Committee, and Youth Ministry.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and vacationing at the happiest place on earth, Disney World. Above all, she cherished her family.

Stanton Young

Stanton Young, formerly of Livingston, died June 5, 2021, in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 70.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. Stan was a graduate of Suffolk Law School in Boston. He received his LLM in Taxation from New York University, and was a member of the New York and Massachusetts Bar Associations. He was senior tax counsel at American International Group for 35 years.

Stan was predeceased by his parents, Beverly and Arnold Young. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Amy; his son, Aaron and his wife, Jessica; and his daughter, Hilary, and her husband, Robert.

Stan will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love of fly fishing.

Donations in Stan’s memory may be made to the Harry Chaplin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.

Mass Was Celebrated For Anthony Saporito

Former Livingston resident Anthony ‘Tony’ Saporito died at Sunrise of West Essex Assisted Living on June 6. He was 99 years old.

Born in Orange to Anthony and Jennie (Bozzelli), he served in the Air Force during World War II and was a longtime member of Livingston’s American Legion. Mr. Saporito worked for Walter Kidde and as a starter at Crestmont Country Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Pizzano); his brothers, Fred, Angelo, and Buddy; and his sister, Catherine Manturi. He is survived by his brother, John, and his wife, Barbara; and his sisters-in-law Grace Saporito, Margaret Pizzano, and Lorraine Pizzano.,

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, June 12, at St. Philomena R.C. Church, with entombment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Sheila Kronisch

Sheila Kronisch (nee Felzenberg), 84, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Myron, and by her brother, Leonard Felzenberg. She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth (and Marc Lesser); Jennifer (and Steven Benenson); Rebecca (and Robert Emert); and Matthew (and Belle Kronisch); 11 grandchildren (several with spouses or fiances); and two great-grandchildren. Each one knew they meant the world to her. Sheila is also survived by her sister, Nancy Vines; her nephews, James and Gregory Felzenberg and David Vines; and her niece, Lauren Felzenberg.

Born in Newark and raised in Maplewood and South Orange, Sheila lived most of her life in Livingston before retiring with her husband to Mount Arlington to enjoy the relaxation of life at Lake Hopatcong.

Mass Was Celebrated For Carolyn D’Antonio

Carolyn G. D’Antonio, 77, died on Tuesday, May 25. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philomena Church on Friday, May 28, followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Ms. D’Antonio was born in Newark to Louis V. and Raffaela Meola D’Antonio and was a graduate of Newark State Teachers College. She taught elementary school in New Providence before moving to Hawaii and serving as an administrative assistant at Chaminade University and Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

She was a resident of Livingston for the last 20 years, and is survived by her sister, Cecelia, and brother, Vincent D’Antonio, and her niece, Gina D’Antonio.

Mass Offered Tuesday For Martha A. King

Martha A. King, 84, of Livingston, died at home on Tuesday, May 25, under the care of hospice.

A Catholic funeral Mass was offered Tuesday, June 1, at Saint Philomena Church in Livingston. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Born in Gary, Indiana, on June 20, 1936, Mrs. King lived in Livingston for 64 years. She was a lifelong active parishioner of Saint Philomena Parish in Livingston.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George, and her five children, Diane, George, James, Richard, and Patricia, and her sister, Mary.

Arrangements were by the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Livingston.
