THE Livingston American Legion Post 201

THE Livingston American Legion Post 201 baseball team defeated Vailsburg Post 395 in the annual Fourth of July Legion Baseball Classic held at Seton Hall Prep's Anthony Verducci Field. Livingston improved to 12-3 with the 3-0 victory while Vailsburg fell to 10-3-1. The game was switched from the Oval due to wet field conditions.

Sunday Dodgers Take Twin Bill from Staten Island

The Livingston Dodgers of the U.S. Over Thirty Baseball League took both ends of a doubleheader from the Staten Island Cardinals on Sunday, June 29. In the first game, José Martinez picked up his sixth decision against no losses on the mound. The final score was 13-2. Frank Moretti blasted a three-run home run to raise his season total to four. Troy Evans had three hits, as did Carmen Capriglione. John Henriques had two hits, and Dennis Iandolo had a long double. Mitch Harris also had two hits, and Doc Pollak had an RBI single. Sal Cicio chipped in with a double. Newcomer Craig Smith had a single.

The Cobras third and fourth grade Livingston girls' softball team won its division championship. Two LHS Athletes Compete in national Championships

Chandler Balter and Jennifer Su, both seniors at Livingston High School, competed at the New Balance National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina. On Saturday, June 14, Balter joined 23 other qualifying athletes from across the country under the lights in the center of the track to compete in his signature event – the javelin.

12UThunder Softball Team Wins Division Title

The12U Livingston Thunder softball team recently won the NJBSL 12U A division championship by defeating top seeded Parsippany Ice, 7-3. This concluded an exciting playoff run for the Thunder, as they defeated not only the top Parsippany team, but also the second and third seeded teams from Wayne and East Hanover.

Thunder 10-U A Softball Has Winning Season

The Livingston Thunder Black 10-U A softball team has completed a successful spring season, winning the regular season title with a 9-1 record and winning the recent play-offs. The girls faced the #2 seed Verona team in the finals, the only team to defeat Livingston earlier in the year.

Boys' Lacrosse Has Historic Season

The Livingston Lancer boys' lacrosse team enjoyed the best season in school history this year, finishing with a final record of 16 wins and just five defeats. Among the many team achievements made throughout the season, were: a final season ranking of #23 in the state of New Jersey; earning a number four seed in the Essex County Tournament and reaching the semifinals of the tournament for the first time; earning a number four seed in the Group IV State Tournament, the highest ever and reaching the quarterfinals for the first time.

Resident's Soccer Team Wins NJ Championship

Livingston resident Bobby Schneiderman plays for the SDFC Gauchos soccer team, whose members were recently crowned the New Jersey State Champions in the boys U-18 bracket of the New Jersey Youth Soccer National Championship Series. It was the team's third championship in the past four years, and the Gauchos will now move on to regional play in Kingston, Rhode Island. They will take on 15 other state champion teams from West Virginia to Maine over the July 4th holiday with the chance to advance to the National Championship.

SUCCESSFUL TOUR De Livingston! More than 200 bikers of all ages participated in Sunday's Bike Livingston event, which featured a choice of a four mile, seven mile or 13 mile route. Family groups were mostly two and three people, but there were also a number of groups of four and fi ve family members riding together.
