Carmella (Cea) Mercurio

Carmella (Cea) Mercurio, 99, died at her residence in Livingston on Sunday, December 7. Her family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston today, Thursday, December 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. The blessing service will be held tomorrow, Friday, December 12, at 11 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum in East Hanover. Born in the Bronx, she lived in Brooklyn before moving to Livingston 15 years ago. Carmella was predeceased by her husband, Pasquale, in 1959. She is survived by her sons, Paul and his wife, Rosalind; Carl and his wife, Renee; and Steven and his wife, Dorothy. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Saint Barnabas Presents Plans For $210 Million Building Addition

Plans for a 269,982 square foot, $210 million addition to Saint Barnabas Medical Center were presented to the Livingston Planning Board on Tuesday evening, December 2. Attorney Peter Carton represented Saint Barnabas. The hospital's president and chief executive offi cer, Dr. Jack Bonamo and architect Kelly Miller provided testimony at the hearing.
