Domenico Carnevale

Domenico D. Carnevale “Don” age 84, ofLivingston, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 22, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Philomena Church, Livingston, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.

Don was born and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, where he enjoyed spending time with the boys from the Third Ward. Don served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He lived in Livingston, New Jersey, for more than 56 years and was employed at the U.S. Post Office in East Orange, New Jersey, for 35 years before retiring as a supervisor at the age of 56.

Janet Ruth Martin, 1944-2021

Janet Ruth Martin

With great sadness, the Martin Family announces the passing of Janet Ruth Martin. Janet was a beautiful, kind-hearted woman whose grace, strength, faith, and courage were admired by all. Janet died in St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, after succumbing to cancer. Her loving husband of 58 years, Kenneth Martin Jr., was by her side.

Due to the pandemic, the funeral and services will be for immediate family only. However, a Memorial Service celebrating Janet’s life will be held on May 23, 2021 at the Livingston United Methodist Church, where all are welcome.

Janet was 76 years old and the proud mother of four children, nine grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. She was generous with her time and her spirit. She helped and touched the lives of many people — the world is truly a better place because she lived.

Jack Mount

John Joseph Mount “Jack,” age 80, of West Orange, formerly of Caldwell and Winfield Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021, surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue Caldwell, on Friday, January 15. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Jack, who lived in Livingston for most of his adult life, spent his youth in Caldwell, graduating from Immaculate Conception High School in 1958, where he was a three sportAll State/County player in football, baseball and basketball. Although drafted by the Milwaukee Braves, he decided to continue his football career at Villanova University, where he participated in the 1961 Sun Bowl.

Ruth Namer

Ruth Namer

Ruth Namer died on January 8, 2021 at the age of 96.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on September 24, 1924. In 1985, she moved to Coconut Creek, Florida, and lived at Wynmoore. She moved to Livingston five years ago to be with her family.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Isaac Namer; loving mother to Jeffrey and Brandi Namer and Helene and Lenny Kesselman; adoring Nana of Martin Kesselman, Jennifer and Joe Godsy, Amanda and Joe Ballance; and loving Great-Nana to Ellie and Brayden Kesselman, Bryce and Brielle Ballance, and Whitney and Talia Godsy.

She will be forever in our hearts and memories.

Herbert A. Overbaugh

Herbert Allen Overbaugh, 87, of Livingston, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Born in Newark, Herbert resided in Livingston for the past 40 years. He was a graduate of Irvington High School, Class of 1952, and later enlisted and served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by the Bergen County Department ofHealth, where he worked as a Health Officer, until his retirement in 1998.

Herbert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Agnes. He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher (Sue) and David, as well as his sister Nancy Klinghoffer, and his nephews, William and Daniel Shumsky.

Due to COVID-19, all services were private, with a possible memorial service to be held in the future. Arrangements have been entrusted to Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of your choice.

Annette Feldman

Annette Feldman (Hebenstreit) 70, of West Orange, NJ and Boca Raton, FL, died January 4, 2021.

Annette graduated from Teaneck High School and Monmouth University. She raised her family in Livingston, NJ and worked as a real estate agent (Annette Kahn).

She is survived by her husband of 19 years Herb Feldman; her daughter Julie (Brian) Maloof, her son Michael (Sharon) Kahn, her step-son David (Lucia) Feldman, her daughter-in-law Hope Feldman Glassgold, her nine grandchildren, Jacob, Laila & Skylar Maloof; Evan & Hailey Kahn; Julia & Brittney Feldman; Ethan & Olivia Glassgold; her sister, Debbie Janoff; her brothers Robert (Mindy) and Richard Hebenstreit.

Services were held for immediate family on January 7, 2021 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston, New Jersey.

Harry Neugold III

Harry Neugold III

Harry Neugold III, 58, passed away at New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, New York, on January 3, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was the youngest of five children born in Livingston, New Jersey, to Harry Neugold Jr. and Jean Bishop Neugold.

Harry graduated from Livingston High School in 1980 and was inducted into the “Big L Club” Hall of Fame in 2012 for his outstanding achievements as a football player and wrestler. He maintained lifelong bonds with the friends he made in high school, and took great joy in playing volleyball and softball with them for over 30 years after graduating.

Harry began college at Kutztown University, Pennsylvania, where he continued his athletic career playing football and wrestling. He later transferred to Seton Hall University, where he earned the title of Catholic National Champion as a wrestler.

Pietro “Pete” Poto

Pietro “Pete” Poto, age 78, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Pietro was born in Lioni, Italy, on June 27, 1942, to the late Gerardo and Giuseppina Poto. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bernardino and Alfonso.

Before moving to Livingston, Pietro immigrated to the U.S. in 1960 and settled in Newark, New Jersey, to start his new life. He lived in Newark until he married his wife, Angela, in 1972. Together they moved to Nutley, New Jersey, until finally settling in Livingston in 1977 and raising their family. Surrounded by a big extended family in and around Livingston, Pietro’s greatest enjoyment in life was being with his loved ones.

Harold I. Frieder

Harold I. Frieder, of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Livingston, New Jersey, and East Hanover, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2020 at the age of 79.

Harold was the loving husband of Judy Frieder; the caring father of Jason and Michele Frieder and Scott Frieder; and the adoring grandfather of Alex, Rylie, Cole and Ryder Frieder. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Frieder; his brother-in-law, Elliot Volk; and his sister-in-law, Sheryl Volk.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he grew up in Verona, New Jersey and after college, he spent his entire career working in the life insurance industry. He was an avid sports fan and loved attending New Jersey Nets games, Seton Hall basketball games, the U.S. Tennis Open, and all sporting events.

He relocated to Florida over 20 years ago and until his passing, he played tennis multiple times a week and was actively involved in his local community.

Private Services For Arnold Decker

Former Livingston resident Arnold Decker died unexpectedly on December 17 in Webster, Texas. He had previously lived in Livingston as well as Parsippany.

Mr. Decker worked for Georgia Pacific before returning to work at the United States Post Office.

He was a member of Livingston’s BPO Elks; Lodge #1855. He served in many leadership roles including Exalted Ruler. He also portrayed Santa Claus at charitable events sponsored by the Elks.

Mr. Decker was pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Paul Fitzgerald. He is survived by his wife, Veronica (Ronnie); his children, Robert Courtney and his wife, Paula, and Cheryl Fitzgerald; and four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
