Josephine Musumeci Dies in Livingston

Longtime resident Josephine Musumeci died on Thursday, November 24, in Livingston. She worked for many years as a secretary for the East Hanover Recreation Department, and was a member of the St. Philomena’s Rosary Altar Society and the Livingston VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Born in Newark, Mrs. Musumeci was predeceased by her daughter, Rosanne Fanning, and her son Paul Musumeci. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph; her children Joseph, Luann Melillo (Stephan), and Robert (Fabiola); her son-in-law, Patrick Fanning; and nine grandchildren. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were by the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home.

Catalda LaManna, 81 Dies on November 21

Catalda "Kay" (Dispenziere) LaManna, 87, a longtime resident of Livingston, died on November 21. Mrs. LaManna is survived by her children, Anthony LaManna and his wife, RoseAnna; Karen LaManna; and Michele Milano and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her sister, Minnie Cusano. She was predeceased by her husband, Rocco, and her brothers, Ben and Tony Dispenziere. Funeral Services Held For Patricia Agresta

Former Livingston resident Patricia Agresta, 73, died on Sunday, November 20. Mrs. Agresta was born in Newark to the late John Marinaro and Anne (Mascola) Marinaro, and raised in Belleville. She lived in Bloomfield, Livingston and Fairfield before moving to Cape May County seven years ago. She was the vice-president of Gebroe-Hammer Associates in Livingston for 32 years. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Nicholas; a daughter, Lisa Elliott; her sisters, Joanne Cozzolino and husband, Vincent, and Karen Priore; a sister-in-law, Irene Wendling and her husband, Frank; and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her son-in-law, John Elliott; and her brother-in-law, Vincent Priore. Funeral arrangements were by S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Nutley. Hold Memorial Service For Cristina Tebolt, 39

Cristina Janet Tebolt, 39, of Livingston, died at Saint Barnabas Medical Center on Monday, November 28. A memorial gathering will be held at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home on Saturday, December 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. Cremation was held privately. Surviving is her husband, Seiji Shiraishi; her daughter, Karina Lynn Shiraishi; and her son, Oliver Alexander Shiraishi. She is also survived by her father, Robert Tebolt; her sisters, Elana and Andrea Tebolt; and her brother, Michael Tebolt. Funeral services were recently held for Margaret A. Basile, a longtime resident of Livingston, who died on Tuesday, November 22, in Toms River. Arrangements were by Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. Born in Newark 89 years ago, Mrs. Basile was a member of St. Philomena’s Church, and a volunteer at St. Barnabas Medical Center. Predeceased by her husband, Vittorio, she is survived by her sons, Vincent Perone (Roni Nieto) and Frank Basile (Cindy Curcio), and one grandchild.

Anita Smith Dies at Age 99

Anita Smith, a Livingston resident and volunteer for almost 50 years, died on Sunday, November 20, in West Caldwell at Crane’s Mill retirement community. Born in the Bronx, she was married to Dr. Gadiel Smith, who died at the age of 100 in 2013. A volunteer for many causes and active in Temple Emanu-El of West Essex, her funeral is scheduled for today, Wednesday, November 23, at 10:45 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery/Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Tina and Debbie; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

David Umanoff Succumbs to Cancer

Former Livingston resident David Umanoff died Sunday, November 13, in Boynton Beach, Florida, after a three year battle with multiple myeloma. He and his wife, Shelly, moved to Livingston in 1968 and lived here until moving to Florida in 2010. Mr. Umanoff was predeceased by his daughter Sandy. In addition to his wife, Shelly, he is survived by a son, Michael. The family has suggested that donations in his memory be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org).
