Robert Tiensch, a long-time resident of Livingston, died Thursday, October 12, in Livingston. He was 77 years old. Mr. Tiensch was a graduate of Millburn High School, class of 1958. He then enrolled at Nichols College in Massachusetts for a year before enlisting the U.S. Army. He served with the 101 Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He later served as the honorary chaplain for the 101 Airborne Division. Mr. Tiensch was predeceased by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Robert Schwarzenbek. Visitation was held Wednesday, October 18, at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A funeral Mass will be offered today, Thursday, October 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover, with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. A memorial service for Ebba Kristoffersen, 89, will be held at The Cliffs, 707 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ, at 3:30 p.m. on October 15, 2017. Light refreshments will follow. Ebba was born on August 2, 1928, in Rodding, Denmark, the fifth of seven daughters to Vagn and Rigmor Knudsen. She passed peacefully at The Cliffs on Saturday, September 30, 2017, with family by her side. She married Anders V.B. Kristoffersen on August 4, 1956. Anders preceded her in death on March 21, 2014.

Fred Zitomer, 83, of Windsor, Connecticut, beloved husband of Stephanie-Anne (Fowler) Zitomer, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at MidState Medical Center, Meriden, Connecticut. Born October 19, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Jack and Rebecca (Woldow) Zitomer, he was raised in Brooklyn, New York and was graduated from Brooklyn Friends School in 1951. He was very active in sports, especially baseball, and had tryouts with the Boston Braves and New York Yankees. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Park University, and his master’s degree and PhD in analytical chemistry from Kansas State University. Fred spent his career in the chemical industry, working for Dow Chemical in Michigan; Celanese Research Company in New Jersey; and the U.S. Patent Office in Virginia.

Ann Wujciak of Livingston, formerly of Newark, died Friday, October 6, at the age of 91. Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 11, at the Codey and Jones Funeral Home, Caldwell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered today, Thursday, October 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena’s Roman Catholic Church, Livingston. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover. Mrs. Wujciak was born in Newark. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Arlene and Magdi Boulos of Whitehouse Station, and Alan and Erin Wujciak of West Caldwell; and four grandchildren. Joseph H. Kressman, 89, died on October 4. He was a longtime Livingston resident before moving to Wall Township in 2004. Mr. Kressman was a Commander of American Legion Post 201 Livingston and a past Commander of the Essex County Organization of the American Legion. He served honorably in the military at the end of WW II, and then again from 1954 to 1958. After being graduated from Seton Hall University with an accounting degree, Mr. Kressman worked as a CPA for Hasken & Sells, Walter Kidde, BASF, Beneficial, and Catholic Relief Services. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Gloria Acosta Kressman; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Maddox of State College, Pennsylvania; and his sister, Helen Toomey of West New York, New Jersey. Carmine D. Campanile, 60, of Whippany, New Jersey passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston on Monday, October 9 at 7 p.m. Born in Prata P.U. Avellino, Italy, Mr. Campanile lived in Whippany, and formerly in Livingston, West Orange and Orange. He was a self-employed attorney in Whippany for many years. He began his legal career with Mandelbaum & Salsburg, P.C. upon graduating from Seton Hall Law School in 1982. Carmine was an active member of the Orange-West Orange UNICO chapter, which he joined in 1988, serving as Chapter President from 1995-1997; District Governor from 2013-2015; and legal counsel for the UNICO Foundation. He was an active reader of history and could recall facts at the drop of a hat. Everyone who knew him knew he enjoyed cooking and could be found at any function in the kitchen with an apron on. However, he never shared his recipes.

Myrna K. Slatin, 88, died at home in Livingston on September 29. Born in Newark to Louis and Betty Herman, Mrs. Slatin was graduated from Weequahic High School in 1947. She lived in Verona and Caldwell before moving to Livingston, and was the secretary at Temple Beth Tikvah in Wayne. She was married to Martin Slatin for 67 years and was the mother of Craig Slatin, Marla Regan and the late Shelley Ayer; the grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of six. Funeral services for Mrs. Slatin were held at Menorah Chapels at Millburn on October 2.

Dr. Iradj Salahi, a former Livingston resident, died on September 28. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Melinda; his children, Ryan, Remi, Jordan, and Elyse and her husband, Marc; and four grandchildren. Memorial visitation, with a family tribute, was held on Sunday, October 1, at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph.

Judith Insabella (neé Triolo) of East Hanover, N.J., formerly of Livingston, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years young. A Funeral Mass was offered on Wed., Oct. 4, at 9:15 a.m. at St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston. Arrangements were by the LaMonica Memorial Home in Livingston. Judy was a dedicated and passionate teacher at Aquinas Academy in Livingston for 35 years, retiring in 2009. She was a moderator for Student Council, board member of The Association of Catholic Student Council (TACSC), teacher representative of the Aquinas Academy Parent Guild, facilitator for Rainbow For All God’s Children, and received the Teacher Recognition Award, presented by the Archdiocese of Newark, in 1994. She was also vice president of the East Hanover Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the Livingston Public Library. Judy was the beloved wife of the late Peter R.
