Mary Pearson, 88, Dies in Holmdel

Mary R. Pearson, 88, died on Sunday, July 19, in Holmdel. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, July 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Raphael's Church in Livingston on Friday, July 24, at 11 a.m. Born in Poland, Mrs. Pearson resided in Livingston for the past 45 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Sr. and is survived by her sons, Stanley Jr. and his wife, Barbara; and Thomas and his wife, Marie. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Pearson's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Funeral Services For Betty Eagle, 86

Betty (Schwartz) Eagle, 86, died in her Livingston home in July 19. Services were held July 20 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman of Livingston. Born in Newark, Mrs. Eagle lived in Irvington before moving to Livingston 49 years ago. A secretary and homemaker, Mrs. Eagle is survived by her husband of 64 years, Julius; her children, Debbie and Gary; two grandsons; and a brother, Sol Schwartz. Donations in Mrs. Eagle's name may be made to a charity of choice.

Gail V. Walker, 65, died on Monday, July 20, in her Livingston home. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years, Gary; her daughters, Shannon (John), Tara, and Lindsay, and two grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Craig Gasparine (Christine) and her sister, Janet Radice. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Walker's name may be made to the Overlook Medical Center Foundation, Attention: Gail Walker Fund.

Funeral Services Held For Ruth Sullivan, 87

Ruth Sullivan, 87, of Livingston, died on Wednesday, July 8. Mrs. Sullivan was born and raised in Jersey City and was employed by the Trust Company Bank of New Jersey, where she met her late husband, Eugene James Sullivan. They moved to Livingston 50 years ago. She was a member of the St. Philomena Rosary Altar Society and was a Eucharistic Minister serving the sick and infirmed at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the homebound. Predeceased by her husband and her sister, Joan, she is survived by her children, Eugene J. Jr. and his wife, Patricia; Joseph B. and his wife, Margaret; and Veronica Mary Hotz and her husband, Bradford; and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Sullivan is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Goodall, Doris Barry, and Josephine Cevetello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philomena’s Sharing Office, 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston NJ 07039

Sadie Rockaway Succumbs at Home

Sadie (Pallino) Rockaway died at the age of 86 in her East Brunswick home on Wednesday, July 1. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 7, at the Brunswick Memorial Home in East Brunswick. Born in Newark, she resided in West Orange and Livingston before moving to East Brunswick 32 years ago. Before devoting herself as a wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Rockaway worked at PNC Bank and as a physical therapist assistant at Theresa Grotto Center for Rehabilitation in West Orange. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Morris Rockaway; her son, Sam Rockaway and his wife, Darlene, of East Brunswick, and three grandchildren. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to any local cancer society.

Funeral Yesterday For Moises Medina

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 8, for Moises A. Medina, who died at the age of 64 on Friday, July 3, in Livingston. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he came to the USA in 1962, grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens and moved to Livingston in 1985. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and attended the School of Visual Arts prior to a career in mechanical engineering. Mr. Medina was self-employed and designed fire-protection systems throughout New York City. He is survived by his wife, Christine Reis Medina; his sons, Benjamin of New York City and Jonathan of New Brunswick and his brother, Michael and his wife Lauren of Paramus.

A funeral Mass will be offered today, Thursday, July 9, at 10 a.m. in St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, Born in Newark, Mrs. Barcellona lived in Newark with her family for most of her life, before moving to Livingston 12 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her brother, Paul Bilancia. Surviving are her son, Vincent Barcellona; and daughter, Diane Werner and her husband Gary. She also leaves behind a granddaughter; and two brothers, Michael and Raymond Bilancia.
