Funeral Services Held For Frank Rubinstein

Frank M. Rubinstein of Atlantis, Florida and Livingston died on Friday, January 23. He was 90 years old. Services were held Sunday under the direction of Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel on Sunday at the Temple of Israel Mausoleum, located on the grounds of the Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Mr. Rubinstein was a B-24 pilot during World War II and was active in the United Way in Livingston and the UJA. He is survived by his sons, John and his wife, Alice; Jeffrey; and Peter and his wife, Irena; as well as nine grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. The family has suggested that contributions in Mr. Rubinstein’s memory be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Dr. William Papanestor Succumbs in Livingston

Dr. William Papanestor, 91, died Wednesday, January 21, at St. Barnabas Medical Center. Born in New York City, Dr. Papanestor lived in Maplewood before moving to Livingston. He was a World War II Army veteran who fought alongside General George S. Patton and was one of his bodyguards. Dr. Papanestor was an industrial psychologist for Lever Brothers in New York City, retiring after 30 years. He is survived by three sons, Peter W. and his wife, Maryann, of Somersworth, New Hampshire; William and his wife, Debra of Vernon; and Paul of Milford, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren. The son of the late Peter and Mary (nee Chloroffa) Papanestor, Dr. Papanestor was also predeceased by his wife, Gertrude "Trudy" Papanestor, on December 13, 2013. William J. Nave Dies in Livingston

William J. Nave died in Livingston on Tuesday, January 20, at the age of 77. Born in Manhattan, Mr. Nave grew up in the Bronx. He was graduated from New York University and attended New York University's graduate school. Mr. Nave spent most of his career working in sales at the Xerox company. He participated with the Livingston Men's Softball League and was a member of the township's handicap committee. Mr. Nave was predeceased by his brother, John M. Nave. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia; and his daughters, Karen Scott and her husband Christopher, and Susan Nave. He is also survived by two grandsons and his sister, Rita Nave. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Livingston First Aid Squad.

Offer Funeral Mass For Brian D. Burns

A Funeral Mass for Brian D. Burns, 66, was held on Saturday, January 17, at St. Matthew the Apostle Parish in Randolph. Mr. Burns, who was raised in Livingston, died on January 9. Mr. Burns began his career in 1975 as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey. He ran a municipal land use and real estate practice in Florham Park for more than 30 years and earned the William M. Cox and other professional awards. Mr. Burns, who was graduated from New York University and Rutgers Law School, also served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Sarah; and his children, Brian and his wife, Katelin; Katie Brody and her husband, Craig; and Tim. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Schrader and Joan Decelles. He was predeceased by his brother, Alan. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA, P.O. Funeral Services For Laurence Conley

Livingston resident Laurence Conley, 61, died on January 14. A Mass at St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell was offered on January 17. Born in Newark, Mr. Conley lived in Essex Fells and moved to Livingston ten years ago. Employed by the Orange Occupational Center, he had many associations with the special needs community. Mr. Conley was a member of of Camp Fatima, Camp Hope, the Caldwell/West Caldwell Canteen and the Livingston Library. He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Conley; sisters Mary Conley Day and her husband, Timothy; Adele Conley Leeds and her husband, Gil; Carlotta Conley Miller and husband, John; and a brother, Blair and his wife, Donna.
