Funeral Services For Delores Messina

Delores Geraldine Messina (nee Schiafo) died on January 1 at CareOne of Morris in Parsippany. She was 86 years old. Born in Newark, Mrs. Messina lived in Livingston for 15 years before residing in West Orange, Montville and Parsippany. She was a front end manager and hostess for more than 30 years, at the Beef & Bottle in Livingston and then at B.G. Fields in Mountainside, retiring seven years ago. Predeceased by her husband, Edward, Mrs. Messina is survived by her daughters, Barbara, Doreen and Mariannne; her brother, Emil Schiafo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the LaMonica Memorial Home , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raphael's Church, both in Livingston, on January 5. She is interred in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of New Jersey, 400 Broadacres Drive, Bloomfi eld, NJ 07003.

Offer Funeral Services For William Flanagan

William Fintan Flanagan, 81, of Livingston died on December 22. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life was offered at St. Raphael's Church on Saturday, December 27. Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Flanagan was a retired captain of the Essex County Sheriff's Department, where he founded the K-9 unit and was frequently awarded the status of distinguished pistol expert. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 - 1957. Mr. Flanagan is survived by his daughter, Denise Flanagan; his brothers, Tom and Roger Flanagan; and many grandchildren. His wife of 43 years, Josephine Moschella, predeceased him in 1999. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org, or to the New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police, 108 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08608.

Susan Reiling

Susan Reiling, 74, of Rockaway died December 26, 2014 of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was originally from Far Rockaway, New York and lived in Livingston, New Jersey for many years. Susan was a devoted wife to Wally, her husband of 50 years, and loving mother to Beth, Joseph and Amy, Jill and Drew and grandmother to Eden, Lucas and Hannah Reiling and Cooper Borst. Susan was kind, loyal, and never hesitated to help a friend in need. An avid canasta player, Susan was a member of Garden State Yacht Club and Shackamaxxon Country Club. Services were held on Sunday, December 28, at noon at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreizman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston, New Jersey. Daniel B. Paskow Succumbs at Home

Daniel Bach Paskow succumbed to lung cancer on December 20 at his Lake Grove, New York home. A funeral was held at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel in Livingston on Tuesday, December 23. Born on February 19, 1959 in Newark, Mr. Paskow was raised in Livingston, where he participated in Little League. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he earned a master's degree in business at New York University. Beginning with IBM in Austin, Texas, and finishing his career as a financial analyst for NCB in New York, Mr. Paskow worked for many multinational companies. He is survived by his wife, Lecia; a son, Zachary; a daughter, Alyssa; and his mother, Barbara Paskow. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Bonnie J. Adario Lung Cancer Foundation.

Dorothy Keer Dies After Lengthy Illness

Dorothy (Dotty) Hartzell Keer, of Palm Coast, Florida, age 91, died on December 18, following a lengthy illness. Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Keer lived in Livingston from 1956 until 1984. She served as a librarian at the Livingston Public Library with former director Ruth L. Rockwood. Mrs. Keer was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Keer, who was the former chairman of the foreign language department at LHS. She is survived by her son, David Keer and his wife, Rhonda, of Allen, Texas; daughters, Beth Keer, Cheryl Massaro, and Cyndie Boyles of Palm Coast; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Flagler Memorial Gardens in Palm Coast.
